Huawei Technologies India Private Limited in association with ACM India is organizing 2 day online technical research summit on 27th - 28th Oct. The main theme of this event is advancements and future of large scale multi modal data engineering in AI/ML era.

This two-day tech research summit will bring together technology leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs & thought provokers who are passionate about addressing impactful problems by turning ideas into solutions.

How the modern computer systems and systems-AI are answering the grand challenge problems of data store

Modern computer systems have enabled the AI/ML systems that are compute and data intensive. However the rising demand also brings new challenges and opportunities, some of which are:

  • Lack of memory bandwidth to move data from memory to CPU leading to latency. DIMM capacity is stagnant but the SSD capacity is increasing. These are major choke point for scale and performance for Big data workload.
  • Computational storage is aiding to scale the memory and compute, new ways of achieving scalability. Compute offloading to GPU, SmartNIC in the database (Join)/AI(graph) scenario.
  • OS virtualization, containerization have come up as a new way of computing in the era of cloud computing. The system challenges of scale, performance, reliability.
  • How do we make systems level decisions more robust with the aid of AI/ML for fault prediction, capacity/mem-bandwidth prediction, caching, compression etc.
